Pre-Primary Tap

Information for boys & girls over 6 years

Please note: if you are enquiring for more than one child, you will need to complete and submit separate forms for each child.

Pre-Primary Tap

Children in Reception year at school can join our energetic and funky Pre-Primary tap classes.  Building on what they have learned in Preparatory tap, children develop correct stance, musical timing and the ability to dance a given number of steps in a sequence.  We focus on clear and rhythmic beating, coordination and nurturing a sense of performance. Ballet and modern must be learned alongside Pre-Primary and Primary tap to help with strength, placement and understanding of line.

Pre-Primary tap classes teach children the basic tap skills that will be needed for their first tap dancing examination which will be Primary Class Examination.  Students can then go on to study tap up to ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) Advanced 2 level.

Primary modern must be learned alongside Pre-Primary tap to help with strength, placement and understanding of line. Saturday children also learn Pre-Primary ballet.
