Pre-Primary Tap
Children in Reception at school can join our energetic and fun Pre-Primary tap classes. To a wide range of music, children develop clear beating, correct stance, co-ordination, musical timing and the ability to dance a given number of steps.
Our Pre-Primary tap classes gradually introduce children to the basic tap skills and technique that will be needed for their first tap dancing examination which will be the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) Primary Class Examination and is usually taken during school year 2 or 3. Also, to help children prepare for this examination, from Pre-Primary tap (II), we start to encourage children to try to remember exercises and corrections from lesson to lesson.
Primary modern and Pre-Primary ballet usually must be learned alongside Pre-Primary tap to help with strength, placement and understanding of line.
